The invention relates to a hybrid DNA sequence encoding a fusion protein comprising: a first DNA sequence encoding an amino acid sequence, allowing the post-translatory modifications, and operably linked to a second DNA sequence encoding a selected protein or polypeptide. The invention relates to a vector containing this sequence, a host cell containing this vector, and the host contained in a system for the production of this fusion protein. The invention also relates to a protein equivalent to the fusion protein encoded by this DNA sequence, and a process for isolation of the fusion protein comprising the contacting with a binding partner which binds to protein only after being modified, to separate the complex of the fusion protein / binding partner unbound material, and eluting the fusion protein to its binding partner.
