DOSIMETRIC TECHNIQUE FOR STEREOTACTIC RADIOSURGERY

stereotactic radiosurgery is facilitated by a technique for dose calculations in various parts of the body of a patient. in particular, the doses are calculated at a relatively high density of points within a grid of fine (572) and at a relatively low density of points within a grid of large doses (580).in this way, the user can quickly obtain the necessary information on the distribution of the radiation dose prior to the implementation of a treatment plan. the technique should be useful to locate the intersection between the radiation beam and the contour or surface of the patient is also disclosed.the process is particularly well suited to a particular structure which allows the use of relatively narrow width of radiation resulting from a high mechanical precision.
