Compsn. comprises amorphous copolyamide (I), comprising hexamethylene diamine (IIA) and/or alkyl-substd. hexamethylene diamine (IIB) and bis-(4-aminocyclohexyl)-methane homologues (III), with cyclohexane ring substd. adjacent to the amino gp. and opt. in other positions and the -CH2- gp. may be replaced by terephthalic acid (IVB) and/or other aromatic or aliphatic dicarboxylic acids (IVC). Pref. (III) are isomer mixts., pref. trans/trans- and cis/trans-isomer mixts., with 1-6, (1-4)C alkyl, esp. Me, Et, Pr or i-Pr substits., esp. combinations of Me with Et or i-Pr substits. in the 3- and/or 5-position and opt. other position of the cyclohexane ring. (I) contains at least 2 wt.% (III) and 0-10 wt.% (IVB) pref. 48-20, (45-25) mole % (II), 2-30 (5-25) mole % (III), 50-40 mole % (IVA) and/or (IVC) and 0-10- mole % (VB). USE/ADVANTAGE - Used for car body or protective-pts. and covers for machinery and dimensionally stable appts. The compsn. has a melt viscosity of max. 1500 Pa.s (270 deg.C/122.6 N). It can be processed and moulded easily, even after modification, e.g. with functionalised copolyolefins (e.g. ethylene-propylene and/or ethylene-butylene copolymers) and adding relatively large amts. of other modifiers, reinforcing agents, fillers or other additives. It has good properties, e.g. high heat distortion temp. stiffness, tensile strength, elongation at break, low temp. impact strength and low water absorption. (0/0)
