Optical fibre adjuster for coupling to high power laser - surrounds coupling-in end by thermo-elastic movable support elements

The device is applied to adjust a light conducting fibre (1) inside a coupling element (2) for connection to a laser, a high power laser. The fibre is surrounded by thermoelectric movable support elements (4.1, 4.2, 4.3) at its end to be plugged in. The supports are pref. bimetallic strips which exert a radial force on the fibre to hold it in the desired position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Automatic fine adjustment of fibre. Allows thinner fibres to be used and increases coupling efficiency.
