Special adjusting apparatuses are not yet commercially available for monomodal optical transmitters. Adjusting apparatuses conceived for other purposes are not only very expensive, but also too bulky. The adjusting apparatus according to the invention requires a space of approx. 50 cm3, i.e. an axial length of approximately 40 mm and an area of approx. 12.5 cm2. It consists essentially of a baseplate (16), a slotted tube spring (1) and a nutating disc (9). The laser (15) is mounted fixed in space on one side of the baseplate (16), while on the other side the monomode fibre (5) is held - adjustable in all three spatial directions - on the nutating disc (9). The spatial centring is performed in small, tilting movements to precisely 0.5 mu m via coarse setting screws (2) and fine setting screws (8, 10) and a lever (4) with cantilever-spring joints (11).
