Nuclear reaction or nuclear fusion exploiting the tunnel effect is produced with the use of moderators added to unconditioned polymer. Ni salts are used as moderators, e.g. Ni(CH3COO)2:NiSO4, in a concn. of 0.1-1.5 wt.% of the total amt. of polymer.
