Tractor axle with torsion bar spring - has adjustable stops to limit torsion bar deflection

The front axle (10) of a tractor is mounted on a support (6) so that the axle can swing about an axis (8), whilst the support swings about bosses (2, 3) which project from opposite sides of the mounting (1) which carries the tractor frame. A torsion bar (12) attached to the boss (3) forms the axle suspension spring. The support (6) has two L-shaped members which are connected by a longitudinal member (7). The elastic deflection of the torsion bar (12) and the corresponding angular deflection of the support (6) about the bosses (2, 3) is limited by two stops (15, 17) which are positionally adjustable.
