Displaying information on very large scale display - selectively switching light sources to illuminate windows of large building

The method involves using the front of a large building, having windows (21,22) arranged in a regular pattern, to produce a display by varying the brightness of display elements (2). The display elements may be single windows, groups of windows. The respective light sources of the display elements are selectively switched by remote control. The lighting installed in the rooms of the building may be used as the light sources, and pref. have delay-free switch-on. The remote control effects the switching of the light sources via networked control signals. 3x5 elements may be used for low-resolution display, e.g. of time, date, temp. etc., and the illuminable areas between windows are used for increased resolution. USE - E.g. for advertising.
