Hollow glass vessels are sterilised by microwave radiation. The glass surface is dried prior to the inradiation stage. The surface drying results in a high bacteria destruction rate, due to direct microwave impingment, higher than that obtained by thermal treatment. ADVANTAGE - Short sterilising timer.
