A dull cast iron wear part (101) has local wear protection in the form of a detachable wear body (102) consisting of an easily brazed basic body (103), onto which cylindrical hard metal scrap pieces (1-4) are brazed. Pref. the basic body (103) consists of unalloyed steel. USE/ADVANTAGE - The wear part is e.g. a concrete mixer blade. Use of cylindrical instead of prisimatic scrap pieces allows larger hard metal layer thicknesses to be obtained (since cylindrical scrap occurs in larger sizes than prismatic scrap) and results in gaps in which wear particles accumulate to provide autogenous wear protection.
