Superconducting composite (I) consisting of an oxide-ceramic superconducting material (II) and an external cover (III) essentially consisting of silver comprises a covering material of an oxide-dispersed cured or curable silver alloy. Also claimed is the prepn. of (I) by inserting (II) into (III), cross-section-reducing moulding, and heat treating to obtain and adjust oxygen concentration. The improvement is that before heat-treatment, a further heat-treatment is carried out to cure the silver alloy.
