The voltage converter has galvanically separated the primary source circuit from the secondary consumer circuit. The converter has several switching arrangements, each with a switch and a storage. The switch first connects the storage for charging of the primary circuit and then for discharging to the secondary circuit. The discharge periods of the individual storages are arranged in a time sequence. According to the type of circuit contg. the primary and secondary terminals, either a d.c. voltage converter or an inverter is formed. If a rectifier circuit is used, the circuits provide an inverter or a rectifier. USE/ADVANTAGE - For miniature transformer replacement, with facility for supplying consumer appliance for longer period, on primary voltage failure.
