The invention relates particularly to railway stock and more especially to the external equipment of carriages. The intercommunication device 1 between the two mutually confronting open ends 2, 3 of two coupled railway carriages consists of a series of hoops of general rectangular shape which are alternately rigid hoops 7 and flexible hoops 8 suitably fastened to one another so as to form a kind of flexible tunnel, the two ends of which are designed to be fastened respectively to the two ends of the carriages. The invention can be used on railway carriages to allow people to pass from one carriage to the other, on articulated road vehicles and even on other coupled vehicles where passengers travel, such as gangways used in airports.
