The component comprises at least one waveguide (5) integrated into a glass substrate (1) and connected to the end of an optical fibre (2) fixed to the substrate at this end and, at a region far from the latter, by, respectively, first (7) and second (8) spots of an adhesive substance. The adhesive substance forming the spot (7) has a glass transition temperature located in a predetermined temperature range for use of the component, whereas the adhesive substance forming the spot (8) has a glass transition temperature located above this temperature range. In this way, differential expansions are absorbed so as to maintain the optical continuity of the fibre/waveguide assembly and the mechanical cohesion of the fibre/substrate connection. IMAGE
