UNITARY CONTROL METHOD FOR MULTIVENDOR PARTS HANDLING GLOBAL PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To improve the efficiency for the unitary control of the multivendor parts in the development of an electronic equipment and in the global production and also to improve the converting efficiency into the locally procured parts at each overseas production base. ;CONSTITUTION: A development center 1 which develops and designs the electronic equipments is provided with a standard parts library 2a which defines the names and the specifications of the standard parts necessary for production of the electronic equipments and a multivendor parts library 2b which stores the information on the interchangeable multivendor parts in accordance with the specifications of the standard parts. When an electronic equipment is designed, both libraries 2a and 2b are collated with each other for production of a basic parts table 2c which contains the information on the parts necessary for production of the electronic equipment. Then each overseas production base 11 receives the table 2c and the library 2b from the center 1 and adds the information on the base 11 to these table 2c and library 2b to produce local parts table 13d based on the parts that can be procured at the production base 11.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
