PURPOSE:To form a Cr-Mo alloy plating film free from cracks and having superior corrosion resistance by setting a plating soln. contg. water soluble Cr,and Mo compds. at a specified temp. when a Cr-Mo alloy film is formed by electroplating with the plating soln. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. contg. 100-300g/l CrO3 as a water soluble Cr compd. and 50-300g/l (expressed in terms of Mo) Na2MoO4.2H2O as a water soluble Mo compd. in 0.09-0.25 ratio of Mo to CrO3 is prepd. as a plating soln. and electroplating is carried out with the plating soln. at =35 deg.C or =65 deg.C. A Cr-Mo alloy plating film contg. 0.5-4% Mo, free from cracks and having superior corrosion resistance is stably formed on the surface of a body to be plated as the cathode.
