DISASTER PREVENTION METHOD AT THE CONNECTION OF ULTRA-HIGH VOLTAGE POWER CABLE

PURPOSE: To provide a method for positively preventing ignition in the disaster prevention using troughs at the connections of ultra-high voltage power cable having a large amount of air. ;CONSTITUTION: A connecting part 7 of an ultra-high electric power cable 1 is housed in troughs 2 and 3, many tubes 8 filled up with an inert gas or non- combustible gas such as nitrogen gas 9 are embedded in a space around the connecting portion within the trough. And at the time of occurrence of a ground fault, a tube located near the point of ground fault is burst and the trough is filled up with the non-combustible gas, by which the ignition to cable can be prevented.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
