PURPOSE: To provide a device capable of forming a patella alta groove and a deep dent part of a postclimaxing thigh bone constituting element into an ablated thigh bone by using a common device to act also as a trial implant during trial reintegration of the whole knee articulation. CONSTITUTION: A trial implant 10 is provided, which comprises a modular bracket 12 to determine a structure with an inner face suitable to be seated on the distal face 38 of an ablated thigh bone and an outer face with a shape similar to the normal distal condyle of a thigh bone. The bracket 12 includes a central opening 18 to expose an ablated bone of the thigh bone and includes a pair of tracks to guide a first forming tool 22. An end mill guide cooperates with the bracket 12 to accept a second forming tool to form a deep dent part and is exchanged with an insert with a postclimaxing housing.
