ENGLISH SPELLING CHECK SYSTEM FOR WORD PROCESSOR

PURPOSE:To reduce a load on operator by securing correction of wrong spelling just with the key operation of a normal document editing mode. CONSTITUTION:A cursor is shifted when a cursor key is pushed on a keyboard 3 and the character of the pushed key is written on the cursor position of a text memory 6 when a character key is pushed. Then the written character is displayed on the picture of a CRT display 7. When an English letter spelling check key is pushed, a spelling check action is started. If a word that is not stored in an English dictionary 4 is detected, a cursor 11 is shown at the head of said word. Then this word is registered on the dictionary 4 with push of an execution key. Thus the spelling check action is started again and no register action is carried out as long as a cancel key is pushed. Then the relevant word is neglected and only the spelling check is restarted. Then the procedure proceeds to an editing routine when the keys except for both execution and cancel keys are pushed.
