PURPOSE: To increase photochemical and thermal stabilization of a polyamide fiber by treating the fiber by using an oxalic acid diarylamide and a specific copper complex salt. CONSTITUTION: A polyamide fiber is treated to increase photochemical and thermal stabilization with a mixture of a fiber-affinity water-soluble oxalic acid diamide containing one sulfone base, expressed by formula I (R1 , R2 are each H, non-substituted 1-18C alkoxy, halogen, 1-18C alkoxy substituted by 1-12C alkoxycarbonyl, (non-) substituted benzyloxy, (non-) substituted benzoyloxy or the like; R3 , R4 are each H, halogen, 1-12C alkyl or the like; (m), (n) are each 1, 2; and (p), (q) are each 1, 2, 3) and a copper complex salt expressed by formula II (R1 is H or 1-15C alkyl; R5 -R8 are each H, halogen, hydroxy or the like; X1 and Y1 are each H, 1-5C alkyl, an aromatic group, or X1 and Y1 form an alicyclic residual group having 5-7 carbon atoms with carbon atoms binding them).
