BREEDING STRAIN OF BIFIDUS BACTERIA HAVING EXCELLENT PRESERVATION STABILITY AND DRIED BACTERIAL CELL POWDER

PURPOSE:To obtain the subject breeding strain having excellent resistance and useful for food, etc., in high yield of survived cell number by culturing bifidus bacteria in a liquid medium, freeze-drying in the absence of a dispersion medium and selecting a strain having high survival rate at a prescribed temperature. CONSTITUTION:Bifidus bacterial strain such as Bifidobacterium longum WB1001, Bifidobacterium brebe WB1002 and Bifidobacterium bifidum WB1003 is cultured in a liquid medium and freeze-dried in the absence of dispersion medium. The cells having a survival rate of 1X10-1 to 1X10-6% after the storage at 50 deg.C are separated. The operation is repeated several to several tens times to obtain the objective breeding strain.
