PURPOSE: To enhance the chipping resistance of a cutting tool made of a binding phase infiltrated diamond-based sintered material by using fine diamond crystals as the diamond crystals of a matrix forming the cutting tool. ;CONSTITUTION: This cutting tool is made of a binding phase infiltrated diamond- based sintered material having a structure contg. 10-25wt.% infiltrated Co alloy binding phase having a compsn. consisting of 0.1-3wt.% one or more among B, Si and P and the balance Co with inevitable impurities in the matrix made of diamond crystals of ≤0.5μm average diameter in a uniformly dispersed state.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
