METHOD FOR MEASURING TRANSFORMATION TEMPERATURE OF STAINLESS STEEL

PURPOSE:To measure the transformation temp. of stainless steel at high temp. (1200-1400 deg.C) using a conventional thermal dilatometer. CONSTITUTION:In a method for measuring the phase transformation temp. of steel using a thermal dilatometer, when the test atmosphere of the thermal dilatometer is constituted of inert gas (helium, neon, argon, krypton, xenon, radon), the thickness of a sample is not reduced and the phase transformation temp. of stainless steel can be accurately measured.
