LOCK FOR THRUST REVERSER MECHANISM, THRUST REVERSER MECHANISM AND THRUST REVERSER

PURPOSE: To provide a lock for a thrust reverser mechanism designed to remove a cause affecting an adverse influence to a thrust reverser due to accidental application of a high pressure fluid. ;CONSTITUTION: The lock comprises a shaft 20 coupled to a flexible shaft which synchronizes hydraulic actuators 1 to 4 of a thrust reverser of a translating cowl 6. The shaft is provided with a rotary brake having axially movable rotating and fixed disc 33, 34 urged together by a spring 40. The disc 33 is rotationally fixed to an armature 26 of solenoids 25, 27 which, when actuated, releases the brake to allow the shaft 20 to rotate and the thrust reverser to be deployed or stowed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
