GLASSES WITH EXCELLENT RADIANT RAY TRANSMISSION AND OPTICAL NONLINEARITY

PURPOSE: To produce glasses with excellent optical nonlinearity and good visible and infrared transmission in a radioactive ray spectrum. ;CONSTITUTION: The glass is produced from the glass group comprising constituents of (a) 15-60% of TlO_0.5, 10-45% of BiO_1.5, 5-40% of GeO₂, and 0.5-10% of GaO_1.5, where TlO_0.5+BiO_1.5≥60%, GeO₂+GaO_1.5≥15% and a sum of TlO_0.5+BiO_1.5+GeO₂+GaO_1.5 is at least 85% of the entire composition, of (b) 5-75% of TeO₂, 0.5-20% of SiO₂, 0-50% TlO_0.5, and 0-75% PbO, where TlO_0.5+PbO≥25%, TeO₂+SiO₂≥25% and a sum of TeO₂+SiO₂+TlO_0.5+PbO is at least 65% of the entire composition, and of (c) 35-80% of SbO_1.5, 0-50% of TlO_0.5, 0-40% of PbO, and 0-10% of SiO₂, where TlO_0.5+PbO≥20% and SbO_1.5+SiO₂≥45%, and the composition is expressed by weight percentage on oxide basis.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
