SLIME-CONTROLLING AGENT AND SLIME CONTROL METHOD USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To provide a slime-controlling agent for preventing various troubles due to slime in the rivers or various effluent systems, comprising 2-bromo-2- nitro-1,3-propanediol and a hydrogen peroxide-donating compound at a specified proportion. ;CONSTITUTION: The objective slime-controlling agent comprising (A) 2-bromo-2- nitro-1,3-propanediol and (B) a hydrogen peroxide-donating compound (esp. pref. hydrogen peroxide) at the weight ratio of (5:1) to (1:500) [esp. (5:1) to (150)]. This agent can prevent various kinds of troubles due to slime in the papermaking process water in the paper and pulp industry, the cooling and washing water in a variety of industries, river water, or various effluent systems.
