DETECTING METHOD AND DEVICE FOR BREAKAGE OF PHASE PIN OF CAM SHAFT MIRROR

PURPOSE: To detect the breakage of a phase pin without giving unreasonable force to the phase pin. ;CONSTITUTION: In a state where a workpiece 2 is restricted by a workpiece braking mechanism 10 after carrying the workpiece 2 to be machined into a cam shaft mirror, the chuck 1 of the cam shaft mirror is rotated to fit a phase pin 3 provided on the chuck 1 in the pin hole 2b of the workpiece 2 for positioning the phase of the workpiece 2. Next, in a state where the workpiece 2 is clamped through the chuck 1, the workpiece 2 is rotated to execute the first dividing and the detecting of the cam top 2b of the workpiece 2 through a sensor. After that, the workpiece 2 is rotated again to execute the second dividing and the detecting of the cam top 2b of the workpiece 2 through a sensor 4, and the breakage of the phase pin 3 is judged from a signal detected by the sensor 4.
