COLD TYPE PAVING METHOD USING PUMICEOUS SAND (SHIRASU)

PURPOSE: To form an excellent surface layer having durability and, at the same time, make it possible to maintain a natural view by paving admixture of liquid synthetic resin with shirasu on the foundation, and leveling it. ;CONSTITUTION: Admixture of liquid synthetic resin such as epoxy resin or single liquid urethane resin, etc., with shirasu yielded as volcanic ash sandy soil is compounded. After that, crusher run is spread over a road surface 1 and is rolled with a roller to construct a subbase course 2. Then, after asphalt emulsion is spread thereon as primer, a heat asphalt mixture is spread and is rolled with the roller to construct an asphalt concrete layer 3 as the foundation. The admixture using shirasu is spread thereon with a rake, etc., and is graded and pushed to form a surface layer 4.
