PURPOSE: To increase the probability of selection by a method wherein meters are assigned respectively to a plurality of weight sections divided by threshold values, the total weight of articles in the meters is determined when a combined weight does not exist within an allowable amount of a target weight, the weight section to which the total weight belongs is discriminated and the articles are charged additionally in the meter corresponding to this weight section. ;CONSTITUTION: Operating a setting display part 17, an operator sets a target weight, a threshold value, an allowable range of the total weight, etc. Next, the operator executes computation of combination of the weight of articles in each weighing hopper 6-1 and determines existence or nonexistence of the combination within the allowable range. When it exists, the articles of the combination are discharged from the hopper 6-1 and packed by a packing machine. When it does not exist, the total weight of the articles in each hopper 6-1 is calculated by an arithmetic control part 16, the weight section to which it belongs is determined and an instruction for an additional charge is given to a corresponding feed hopper 5-1. Thereafter the articles of combination within the allowable range are discharged and packed again.
