ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA method of measuring the oil content in the grossoil production of an oil well in which the percentage ofsolids content thereof is known, comprises the steps ofintroducing a predetermined weight of well productioninto said vessel, determining the time interval requiredto introduce said predetermined weight of well produc-tion into said vessel, determining the total wellproduction flow rate of said well production into saidvessel during said time interval, electromagneticallydetermining the percentage water content in said wellproduction, determining from said percentage watercontent the water flow rate into said vessel during saidtime interval, determining from said known percentagesolids content the solids flow rate into said vesselduring said time interval, and determining the per-centage oil content in said well production by deductingsaid solids flow rate and said water flow rate from saidtotal well production flow rate.
