METHOD FOR DETECTING AND COMBATTING FOREST FIRES

The method of the invention consists in flying over systematically and at high altitude the surface of the risk area under surveillance according to a predefined circuit and with a number of aircrafts varying as a function of the total surface to be covered and of the desired frequency of passes, said airplanes being equipped with very precise navigation means and with equipments for recording their position as well as thermosensing means and means for transmission to the ground command station; all spots of anomalies detected are transmitted in real time to said command station so that, according to the characteristics of the area concerned, the means actually available and the environmental conditions which can be controlled also in real time, the most necessary and appropriate fire combatting means can be sent to the region concerned in order to fight against the cause of said anomaly and against any disaster which may have been caused by said anomaly.
