Using; medical microbiologists. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION: A probe was obtained by cloning a fragment of a cholera vibrio chromosomal DNA as part of plasmid vector p UC 18. The producer of the recombinant plasmid pES78VCS is E.coL.i KM-57 strain. A DNA probe is obtained from a recombinant plasmid after its hydrolysis with the restriction endonuclease Hind III, electrophoresis, and elution of the cloned fragment from the gel. As a probe, both the whole fragment and its portions resulting from the hydrolysis of Xho I and Hinc III can be used. The radioactive label / a32P / ATP was inserted into the DNA by nick translation. Of the 24 bacterial species studied, only representatives of the Vibrio chobrac species are hybridized with the probe. A recombinant plasmid can serve as a source for a DNA probe and can be used to improve the identification of cholera vibrios. with
