GRANULAR TRICALCIUM PHOSPHATE COMPOSITIONS SUITABLE FORDIRECT COMPRESSION TABLETINGABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSUREA granular directly compressible tricalcium phosphatehaving a particle size sufficient for efficient directcompression tableting, can be prepared by densifyingcompacting tricalcium phosphate to a particle sizesufficient for wet granulation. The wet granulatabletricalcium phosphate can be easily wet granulated with abinder. The product wets easily, does not absorb excessivebinder, and dries easily in a short period of time. The wetgranulated tricalciumn phosphate exhibits goodcompressibility in direct compression tableting.
