An electrolytic process for recovering Ni waste (I) is claimed esp. from Ni plating baths. In this method, an electrolytic cell is set up contg. I in the cathode compartment and there are anodes sepd. from one another and the cathode compartment by anion impermeable membranes (II). The analyte is an alkaline soln. (esp. NaOH) with concn. 0.1-2M and the II is a PTFE fabric coated with sulphonic acid copolymers. USE/ADVANTAGE - A simple and economic way of recovering I.
