Precision dosing of gases - using hydraulically operated gas expansion and dosing vessel having elastically deformable wall

(A) A gas dosing process comprises (a) feeding pressurised gas into a closed space (7) having an elastically deformable wall (6) which is exposed to an external hydraulic medium; (b) withdrawing the hydraulic medium so that the wall (6) extends and the gas expands to atmos. pressure within the closed space (70); (c) measuring the temp. and pressure of the gas and the external air and calculating the actual gas vol. to be dosed; and (d) returning the hydraulic medium in an amt. corresp. to the desired gas dosage so that the wall (6) re-contracts to expel gas at atmos. pressure. (B) Appts. for carrying out the process is also claimed. ADVANTAGE - The process provides extremely precise and reproducible dosing of various gases.
