Inking mechanism for multiple colour printing machine - has simple mechanism to change ink supply, using two ink troughs

The machine (1) has two inking mechanisms (6,7) mounted one above the other. Each inking mechanism has two ink troughs (16,17) and (18,19) with each trough being equipped with an ink applying roller (20,21) and (22,23). Each trough is pivoted to a lever which can pivot about its midpoint but is normally held in a vertical position. In this vertical position the roller (20), of the trough (16) of the upper inking mechanism, is brought into contact with the ink transfer roller (24). When the supporting lever is rotated through 180 deg. the roller (21) of the other trough (17) is brought into contact with the ink transfer roller and so changes the ink supply source. The ink source of the lower inking mechanism is changed in a similar manner. USE/ADVANTAGE - Ink changing mechanism for printing machine. The mechanism can be fitted to any type of rotary printing machine.
