The composite slabs (I) are made by (1) preparing supporting slab (10) with defined surfaces and edges of shapable, hardenable material; (2) preparing natural stone slab by splitting, sawing or milling; (3) applying layer of adhesive (14) on a surface of the supporting slab and/or of the natural stone slab; (4) joining together, at surfaces to be bonded together, the supporting slab and at least one natural stone slab; and (5) hardening the adhesive layer. Pref. supporting slab is of cured concrete. Supporting slab is 5-20 cm thick and natural stone slab is 1-4 cm thick. Natural stone slab and supporting slab have same outline. 2-component adhesive based on epoxide resin is used. Filler, partic. quartz sand, is added to adhesive. Adhesive layer is 0.0005-0.003m thick. USE/ADVANTAGE - Paving pedestrian zones and traffic-quietened areas. (I) are prepd. simply and economically, with reduced thickness compared with conventional composite natural stone slabs, and have high strength and long term durability.
