Brake pad for brake discs comprises a disc (4) with at least two concentric friction areas (5, 6, 7) with common centre at the brake disc axis (12). The outer segment (5) has the smallest friction coefft. and the inner segment (7) the largest. Inside one segment the friction coefft. remains constant around its circumference. The brake between successive friction areas ensure an unbroken friction surface with each border being perpendicular to the friction surface. Once across a border the friction coefficient value increases considrable. Pref. three friction areas are included on a brake disc. ADVANTAGE - The brake disc is uniformly heated during braking and therefore remains in a stable shape and does not distort and give rise to squeaky noises.
