The warhead ejected from a spin-stabilised missile has an explosive charge in its housing (1) activated by a target detector incorporating a circular mirror (14) pivotable about an axis (15) in an annular frame (3). For precise positioning of the mirror, the frame swings outwards about an eccentric pivot axis (4) at the back of the warhead under centrifugal force. The frame takes up a final position wherein the mirror is deployed by the slipstream about its own axis (15) at right angles to the longitudinal axis (2). ADVANTAGE - Simple structure insensitive to interference brings reflector into predetermined position substantially free from play.
