The holder has leaves (2,3) between which another leaf (4) fits, consisting of a tension-piece (6) on the underside of one outer table-leaf (3). The tension device tightens a tension element (7) attached to, and unrolled from, a spool (11) to different lengths and extending from the tension-device (6) to the other outer table-leaf (2). A spring (8) connecting the tension element and the tension piece is positioned between the two outer table-leaves. A base plate (10) is fixed to one outer table-leaf (3) and has the spool and a lever-type slide-guide (13) pivot mounted on it, with a fixed stop-piece (15). The base plate has a guide (16) for a to-and-fro moving carriage (17) supporting a deflector (18) for the tension element. USE/ADVANTAGE - For the leaves of a pull-out table. The table-leaves, independent of the ultimate table-size, are pressed together with constant tensional force.
