The edge of a step is covered by a metal angle strip (20). To the front face (32) of this strip, a wooden decor panel (42) is attached through a hidden rear fixing (54). The decor panel is tapered (62) in section opposite the lower edge of the angle strip. The wooden panel can be attached by a screw to the angle strip. The under-edge of the wooden panel can be of a rounded section. USE/ADVANTAGE - Covers unsightly metal strip and tapered section reduces tripping effect of nose detail.
