Mixt. contains a nonionic surfactant based on a fatty acid ester of a polyoxyalkylene alkyl ether of formula: (I) R1(O) (OR2)nOR3. (I) is prepd. by reacting a fatty acid alkyl ester with an alkylene oxide, in presence of a catalyst comprising MgO with addn. of Al(3+), Ga(3+), IN(3+), Tl(3+), Co(3+), Sc(3+), La(3+), and/or Mn(2+) ions. R1 is 6-22C alk(en)yl; R2 2-4C alkylne: R3 1-4C alkyl; n is 5-30 and represents the avergage number of mols of added OR2. (I) is pref. prepd. from a fatty acid alkyl ester of formula R1COOR3 and a 2-8C alkylene oxide, pref. ethylene oxide, propylene oxide and/or butylene oxide. The catalyst contains 0.1-30 (0.5-10) wt.% of metal ion, pref. Al(3+) or Ga(3+). USE/ADVANTAGE - The detergent mixt. is used a washing compsn., or kitchen and domestic cleaner.
