The relay has a movable contact (12) supported on a flexible carrier (11) produced from pressed metal and having an L-shape in plan view and a zigzag side profile to provide a stable, yet easily deflected element. The actuation for the movable contact carrier is provided by a coupling (15) that has a profiled tip (10) engaging the carrier. The coupling is displaced by a flap armature (6) at the rear of the unit. The core and yoke (26) are produced as a single unit and the pole surface is of a large cross section produced by a change in section.
