The colour printing unit, for a colour video printer or colour printer and the like, has an electron emitting electrode, anodes with the light emitting points through the electrons from the electrode, and control electrodes to control the electron flow from the electrode so that the light point is formed by a fluorescent with an emission spectrum of one, two or more colours. A colour filter determines the colour of the light emitted from the light point. Pref. a number of light emitting blocks are on a substrate (1), against each other in a sub-scanningline, where each block colour (R) has an anode conductor (2) along the inner surface of the substrate (1) parallel to a main scanning line. Light points (5) of the same fluorescent (4) of the same assembly are in the same position and take deposits on the anode conductors (2) on the main scanning line. The light points (5) are positioned against each other between the colour light blocks (R). Cathodes (14) emit electrons, with control electrodes (7, 10) for the emitted electrons. A housing is sealed against the inner surface of the surface of the substrate (1) to shroud the control electrodes (7, 10) and cathodes (14). A number of colour filters give colour discrimination in front of the corresponding colour light blocks (R) at an outer surface of the substrate (1). A number of anode conductors are equidistant along the sub-scanner so that the light points (5) are angled at the light blocks (R) against each other on the main scanning line. ADVANTAGE - The colour printing is effected with a single type of fluorescent material. The accuracy of the light points is increased to give high-quality printing.
