Control of exhaust and inlet valves of multi-valve IC engine - involves two load exchange valves for each cylinder with individual cam per valve on common camshaft
The second cams (13) are rotatable as separate components on the camshaft (4) and axially displaceable between a first (13') and a second axial position. On their end area facing the first cam (13) they have claws (19), which only in the first axial position instead of the claws (18) of the first cams are in rotary engagement with non-rotary claws (17) on the camshaft (4). The first cams (12) as axially displaceable ring pistons limit pressure spaces (8) for a hydraulic pressure medium in the direction of the first axial position of the first cams, whilst on the second cams (13) in the direction of their first axial position springs (14) engage. USE/ADVANTAGE - A cam and camshaft arrangement for controlling the exhaust and inlet valves of a multi-valve IC engine.
