A small camshaft (2) is housed in a metallic casing (1) and opposite each cam a master cylinder (3) is screwed. When a cam compresses the pushrod (9) of its master cylinder, an oil pressure is sent into corresponding receptor cylinders (6). These then exert an amplified pressure on the inlet valve stem (7) which opens onto a piston and simultaneously of an exhaust valve (8) which opens on another piston. When the cam frees the pushrod, the oil pressure falls and the valves close under the action of their return springs.
