The method involves separating the medium from a transport flow with ideal flow conditions into at least one measurement flow with ideal measurement conditions. The cross-section of the measurement flow has a smaller depth than the transport flow at at least one point. The measurement parameter is taken from the measurement flow which is finally recombined with the transport flow. At least one sensor (6,7) is arranged at a measurement region (3) formed by branching the pipeline (1). USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use with pneumatic conveyor system. Optimal effective sensor spectrum can be used without unwanted changes in speed of medium.
