The system has a detector indicating an intruder or attempted removal of a protected object and activating an acoustic and/or optical alarm device (9). A pulse source (21) is connected in parallel with the acoustic alarm (10) for delivering electric pulses to the protected object, or a protective metal structure. The pulse source (21) uses a capacitor (14) charged via a diode (12) and coupled via a thyristor circuit (17) to a HV transformer (18), providing the electrical pulses at its output terminals (22, 23). ADVANTAGE - Provides shock pulses in addition to alarm signal for providing additional deterrent.
