The generator has a pulse operated load (LK) with a parallel impedance. A capacitance (C1-4) in an LC-inversion circuit is dischargeable into the load, on triggering. The charge capacitances are actuated by a HV source (18) up to a charge voltage (Uo). On actuating a HV trigger circuit the capacitance charge the load such that their charge voltages add-up to an increased pulse voltage. Each charge capacitance consists of a series connection of two capacitors (C1,2;C3,4) in such a way that several pairs (CP1,2) of charge capacitors are formed. Each pair is allocated a HV trigger switch (S1,2), simultaneously triggerable. During the discharge, both charge capacitor pairs are in series and dischargeable into the load with a resultant pulse voltage (Umax). USE/ADVANTAGE - Pulse laser and electron beam sources, with facility for voltage multiplying. Very low output impedance.
