P The present invention relates to a process in which a metal or metal alloy is deposited by thermal spraying on a base alloy before the hot work of the latter. More specifically, the invention relates to the use of a plasma-coated titanium coating on a titanium alloy plate to improve the ability to work hot. This combination makes it possible to laminate the basic alloy sensitive to the formation of cracks with a minimum of surface and edge cracks. In addition, using a plasma sprayed titanium coating, a reduction in the rolling force is observed which is necessary to reduce the thickness of the material during the hot working operation. /P
